May 2018, Exports of Sumatera Utara increased by 18.27 percent

Abstract

Export value through loading port in North Sumatera region in May 2018 increased from April 2018 from US $ 736.57 million to US $ 871.11 million or an increase of 18.27 percent. When compared to May 2017, North Sumatra exports increased by 13.00 percent.

The greatest increase in export value of North Sumatera in May 2018 to April 2018 occurred in fat and animal / vegetable oil category (HS 15) which increased by US $ 78.36 million (30.00%) followed by chemical products (HS 38) $ 10.45 million (12.02%), as well as coffee, tea, spices (HS 09) of US $ 6.99 million (14.51%).

Exports to China in May 2018 were the largest at US $ 116.92 million, followed by the United States of America at US $ 115.13 million and Japan at US $ 71.90 million with contribution of 34.89 percent. According to the export-led group in May 2018, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US $ 309.06 million (35.48 percent).
