• Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) against the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
• FTT is one indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
• In March 2020, the Sumatera Utara Province NTP (2018 = 100) was 109.41 or fell 2.06 percent compared to the February 2020 NTP which was 111.71.
• The decrease in FTT in March 2020 was due to the decline in FTT in all subsectors, namely the FTT of the Food Crop subsector by 1.17 percent, the FTT of the Horticultural Subsector by 0.53 percent, the FTT of the Plantation Plant subsector by 3.17 percent, the FTT of the Livestock subsector by 0, 49 percent, and Fisheries subsector NTP by 0.64 percent.
• Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In March 2020, rural deflation occurred in Sumatera Utara by 0.08 percent. This was caused by the decrease in the household consumption index in 2 consumption groups, namely the index of the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.18 percent and the transportation index by 0.03 percent.
• Sumatera Utara Province Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in Sumatera UtaraProvince in March 2020 was 110.07 or decreased by 2.19 percent compared to NTUP in the previous month.
