Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).

NTP is an indicator to determine the level of ability / purchasing power of rural farmers. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.

In September 2020, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 110.44 or an increase of 1.76 percent compared to the NTP in August 2020, which was 108.53.

The increase in NTP in September 2020 was due to an increase in NTP in three sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the Horticultural Crops sub-sector by 1.74 percent, NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector by 3.23 percent, and NTP in the Fisheries sub-sector by 0.48 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the Food Crops subsector decreased by 0.03 percent and the NTP of the Animal Husbandry subsector decreased by 0.22 percent.

Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In September 2020, there was rural inflation in North Sumatra of 0.17 percent.

The North Sumatra Province Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) September 2020 was 110.48 or an increase of 1.88 percent compared to NTUP the previous month.
