Abstract

  • NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In March 2021, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 117.05, an increase of 2.06 percent compared to the NTP in February 2021, which was 114.69.
The increase in NTP in March 2021 was caused by an increase in NTP in two sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector by 4.02 percent and NTP in the Animal Husbandry sub-sector by 0.15 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the other three sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the NTP of the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.20 percent, NTP of the Horticulture sub-sector by 0.27 percent, and NTP of the Fisheries subsector by 0.44 percent.
Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In March 2021, there was rural deflation in North Sumatra of 0.28 percent.
