Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on human development
in Batu Bara. This can be seen from the slowdown in Human Development Index
(HDI) growth in 2020 compared to previous years. In 2020, HDI of Batu Bara reached
68.36. This figure increased by 0.01 points or grew by one percent compared to
2019.
The slowdown in HDI growth in 2020 was strongly influenced
by the decrease in adjusted average per capita expenditure. This indicator
decreased from 10.57 million rupiah in 2019 to 10.41 million rupiah in 2020.
Babies born in Batu Bara in 2020 have the hope of being
able to live up to 66.96 years, 0.21 years longer than the previous year.
In 2020, children who are 7 years old have the hope of
enjoying 12.63 years of education, 0.01 years longer than in 2019.
On average, the population aged 25 years and over had
taken education for 8.06 years, 0.01 years longer than the previous year.
