Abstract
NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In March 2022, the NTP of Sumatera Utara Province (2018=100) was recorded at 128.65, an increase of 2.24 percent compared to the NTP of February 2022, which was 125.83.
The increase in NTP in March 2022 was caused by an increase in FTT in four sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the Horticulture sub-sector by 4.48 percent, the NTP of the People's Plantation Sub-sector by 3.66 percent, the NTP of the Livestock sub-sector by 0.55 percent, and the NTP of the Fisheries sub-sector by 0.77 percent. Meanwhile, the FTT of the Food Crops subsector decreased by 1.05 percent.
Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation/deflation. In March 2022, rural inflation in North Sumatra was 0.99 percent.
