Abstract
Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In June 2022, the NTP of Sumatera Utara Province (2018=100) was recorded at 117,31 or decreased by 0,78 percent compared to the NTP of May 2022, which was 116,40.
The decline in NTP in June 2022 was caused by the decrease in NTP in the People's Plantation Sub-sector by 8.88 percent. Meanwhile, the FTT for the other four sub-sectors experienced an increase, namely the FTT for the Food Crops sub-sector by 1,36 percent, the NTP for the Horticulture sub-sector by 1,44 percent, the NTP for the Livestock sub-sector by 2,41 percent, and the NTP for the Fisheries sub-sector by 0,24 percent.
Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation/deflation. In Juni 2022, rural inflation in Sumatera Utara was 1,96 percent.
