May 2022, Sumatera Utara's exports experienced a decrease of 40,99 percent

Abstract

The value of exports through loading ports in the Sumatera Utara region in May 2022 decreased compared to April 2022, from US$1,29 billion to US$761,86 million, an decrease of 40,99 percent. When compared to May 2021, North Sumatra's exports decreased by 16,49 percent.
The category of goods that experienced the largest decline in export value was the category of animal/vegetable fats & oils of US$360.20 million (-68.76 %), followed by the aluminum category of US$ 37.37 million (-68.22%). Meanwhile, the category of goods that experienced an increase in the export value of organic chemicals was US$5.45 million (6.37%).
Exports to China in May 2022 were the largest at US$151,42 million, followed by the United States at US$88,76 million and Japan at US$52,01 million with the contribution of the three reaching 38,36 percent.
According to the main group of export destinations in May 2022, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$296,35 million (38,90%).
