Abstract

  • The value of exports through loading ports in the Sumatera Utara region in May 2022 decreased compared to April 2022, from US$1,29 billion to US$761,86 million, an decrease of 40,99  percent. When compared to May 2021, North Sumatra's exports decreased by 16,49  percent.
  • The category of goods that experienced the largest decline in export value was the category of animal/vegetable fats & oils of US$360.20 million (-68.76 %), followed by the aluminum category of US$ 37.37 million (-68.22%). Meanwhile, the category of goods that experienced an increase in the export value of organic chemicals was US$5.45 million (6.37%).
  • Exports to China in May 2022 were the largest at US$151,42 million, followed by the United States at US$88,76 million and Japan at US$52,01 million with the contribution of the three reaching 38,36 percent.
  • According to the main group of export destinations in May 2022, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$296,35 million (38,90%).
