May 2023, Sumatera Utara's exports have increased by 19.95 percent

Abstract

The value of exports through loading ports in the North Sumatra region in May 2023 increased compared to April 2023, from US$698.02 million to US$837.30 million, an increase of 19.95 percent. When compared to May 2022, North Sumatra's exports have increased by 9.90 percent
The group of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value in May 2023 compared to April 2023 was the animal/vegetable fats and oils, which increased by US$61.75 million (23.03%), while the group of goods that experienced the largest decline in export value was the dregs/waste class. the rest of the food industry amounted to US$18.78 million (-31.69%).
Exports to the United States in May 2023 were the largest at US$109.23 million, followed by China at US$107.80 million and India at US$63.11 million with the contribution of the three of them reaching 33.46 percent.
According to the group of main export destinations in May 2023, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$275.47 million (32.90%)
