Abstract

In June 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sumatera Utara Province will be 3.35 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.75. The highest inflation occurred in Padangsidimpuan City at 4.13 percent with a CPI of 107.78 and the lowest occurred in Pematangsiantar City at 2.89 percent with a CPI of 106.95.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for all expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.15 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.30 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.52 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.72 percent; health group by 1.79 percent; transportation group by 1.23 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.14 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.55 percent; education group at 1.54 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.27 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 4.36 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate is 0.33 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate is 1.65 percent.
