Abstract

The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Batu Bara Regency in 2024 at current prices reached IDR 47,317.58 billion, while the GRDP of Batu Bara Regency in 2024 at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 27,614.17 billion.

The economy of Batu Bara Regency in 2024 grew by 4.12 percent, higher than the achievement in 2023, which recorded a growth of 4.08 percent.

Based on the business field approach, the highest growth was recorded in the Government Administration, Defense, and Mandatory Social Security sector, which grew by 10.57 percent. Meanwhile, based on the expenditure approach, the highest growth was achieved by the Non-Profit Institution Serving Households (NPISH) Consumption Expenditure Component, which grew by 8.56 percent.

The economic structure of Batu Bara Regency, when viewed from the business field perspective, remains dominated by the Manufacturing Industry at 44.54 percent; Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries at 22.54 percent; and Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles at 18.15 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, final demand activity is still dominated by the Household Consumption Expenditure (PK-RT) component, accounting for 40.37 percent.

Spatially, particularly in the East Coast Region of North Sumatra Province, the economy of Batu Bara Regency ranks sixth out of 12 regencies/cities in the East Coast Region of North Sumatra Province.
