Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in March 2018 reached 22,055 visits, an increase of 23.03 percent compared to that coming in February 2018 reaching 17,926 visits. When compared to the same month of 2017, the number of foreign tourists in March 2018 fell by 3.19 percent, from 22,781 visits in March 2017 to 22,055 visits.
• In March 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the largest visitors with 12,972 visits or 58.82 percent of total foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.
• The occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in Sumatera Utara in March 2018 reached an average of 46.49 percent, up 6.56 points compared to February 2018 of 39.93 percent.
• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in March 2018 was 1.32 days, down 0.19 points compared to February 2018.
• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara through Kualanamu International Airport during March 2018 reached 312,516 people, up 7.46 percent compared to February 2018 which reached 290,832 people.
