Abstract

The number of foreign tourists visiting North Sumatera through 4 (four) entrances in May 2018 reached 14,744 visits, decreasing 21.32 percent compared to those in April 2018 reaching 18,740 visits. When compared to the same month in 2017, the number of foreign tourists in May 2018 fell 30.27 percent, from 21,144 visits in May 2017 to 14,744 visits.
In May 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 7,292 visits or 49.46 percent of total foreign tourists visiting in North Sumatra.
The star-rated room occupancy rate (TPK) of star-rated hotels in North Sumatera in May 2018 reached an average of 43.29 percent, down 2.08 points compared to April 2018 of 45.37 percent.
The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in May 2018 reached 1.47 days, down 0.23 points compared to April 2018.
The number of domestic passengers departing from North Sumatra through Kualanamu International Airport during May 2018 reached 275,394 people, down 15.09 percent compared to April 2018 which reached 324,330 people.
