• As of June 2019, Sumatera Utara Province NTP (2012 = 100) was recorded at 96.52 or down 1.64 percent compared to the May 2019 NTP which was equal to 98.14.
• The decline in the June 2019 NTP was caused by a decline in the NTP of the Food Crop sub-sector by 1.90 percent, and the NTP of the Community Plantation Crop Subsector by 3.98 percent. While the Horticulture sub-sector NTP rose by 0.81 percent, Livestock sub-sector NTP rose by 0.48 percent, and Fisheries subsector NTP rose by 0.96 percent
• Changes in the Household Consumption Index (SCE) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In June 2019, there was rural inflation in Sumatera Utara at 1.34 percent. This is due to the rise in all household consumption indexes, namely the foodstuffs group index of 2.67 percent, the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group index by 0.46 percent, the housing group index by 0.02 percent, the clothing group index at 0.43 percent, the health group index by 0.06 percent, the Education, Recreation and Sports group index by 0.27 percent, and the transportation and communication group index by 0.07 percent.
• The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Businesses (NTUP) of Sumatera Utara Province in June 2019 amounted to 106.79 or decreased by 0.70 percent compared to NTUP the previous month.
