Abstract
The economy of Batu Bara in 2020
compared to the previous year grew by -0.31 percent, contracting due to the
Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the production side, the highest growth was experienced
by the Information and Communication Field of 7.47 percent. Followed by the
Electricity and Gas Field by 5.53 percent. Some businesses experienced
contractions, among others, the Accommodation and Food Service Activities Field
by -5.75 percent and the Construction field by -4.41 percent.
Based on the expenditure side,
the highest growth was Household Consumption Expenditure by 0.02 percent. The
highest contraction was experienced by the NPISHs Consumption at -2.33 percent.
Three business fields that give
a dominant contribution to the GRDP of Batu Bara in 2020 are: Manufacturing Industry
by 45.62 percent; Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing by 19.51 percent; and Wholesale
and Retail, Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles by 17.96 percent. From the
expenditure side, the Household Consumption Expenditure contributed the largest
amount of 40.86 percent, following the Export of Goods and Services by 31.05
percent; and the Gross Fixed Capital formation component by 19.53 percent.
Nominally, GRDP of Batu Bara in
2020 at current prices reaches IDR 34,987.64 billion and GRDP at constant
prices in 2010 reaches IDR 23,923.64 billion.
