March 2022, Sumatera Utara Province Inflation 0.71 percent

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most indexes of the expenditure group, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.47 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.07 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.07 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.66 percent; health group by 0.13 percent; transportation group by 0.34 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.03 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.42 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.33 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 1.74 percent. The group that did not change was the education group.

The main commodities contributing to inflation during March 2022 include red chilies, shallots, gold jewelry, rice, tomatoes, mustard greens, and wafers.
