April 2022, Sumatera Utara Inflation 0.44 percent

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most indexes of the expenditure group, namely the clothing and footwear group by 1.08 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.25 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 1.56 percent; health group by 0.23 percent; transportation group by 1.78 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.04 percent; education group by 0.01 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.23 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.90 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group had a deflation of 0.08 percent. The groups that did not change were the food, beverage, and tobacco groups.

The main commodities contributing to inflation during April 2022 include cooking oil, air transportation, gasoline, broiler meat, wages for household assistants, wine, and pears.
