May 2022, Sumatera Utara Inflation 0.74 percent

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most indexes of the expenditure group, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.42 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.21 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.06 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.52 percent; health group by 0.41 percent; transportation group by 1.16 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.38 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 1.00 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.21 percent. Meanwhile the information, communication, and financial services group; and the education group did not change.

The main commodities contributing to inflation during May 2022 include air transportation, broiler meat, dencis fish, shallots, broiler eggs, tuna/ambu-ambu fish, and oranges.
